PLEASE READ GUIDELINES BEFORE SUBMITTING!✶ Pieces adhering to the theme will be favoured.✶ You must be aged 13-25 to submit.✶ Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please let us know if your piece is accepted elsewhere via email ASAP!✶ Previously published work is allowed, but please make sure you have permission and that you state clearly where your piece was last published.✶ The use of AI is strictly prohibited, and will result in rejection.✶ Hateful and discriminatory content in any shape or form is strictly prohibited, and will result in rejection and blacklisting from future Morning Star Literary submission calls.POETRY:
✶ You may submit a maximum of 2 poems per submission cycle
✶ A minimum of 10 lines / a maximum of 40 lines
✶ Times New Roman, single spaced, font size 12 (If your poem has unique formatting or a font/font size that is creatively relevant, we will accept it)PROSE:
✶ One submission per cycle
✶ A maximum of 1500 words
✶ Times New Roman, 1.5 spaced, font size 12FICTION / CREATIVE NON-FICTION:
✶ One submission per cycle
✶ A maximum of 2500 words

✶ We are accepting excerpts of larger piecesSCREENPLAY:
✶ One submission per cycle
✶ No more than 5 pages

✶ You may submit up to 3 artworks per submission cycle
✶ Digital art AND traditional artwork in any medium are accepted
✶ If traditional, please take a clear, well-lit photo of the piecePHOTOGRAPHY:
✶ You may submit up to 5 photographs per submission cycle
